The members of the Council of Commissioners were elected during the school elections on November 2, 2014. The school board territory includes 9 electoral divisions. The Council is composed of 13 members which includes 1 Chairperson, 9 commissioners, 3 parent commissioners: one for the elementary level, one for the secondary level and one representative of SEAC.

The duration of the mandate of the elected commissioners is for duration of 4 years. The mandate of the parent commissioners is for a duration of two years.

Mr. Paolo Galati is the Chairperson of the Council of Commissioners.

Normally, Council meetings are held at 7:30 PM in the board room of the school board Head Office in Rosemère. These meetings are open to the public and 2 public question periods are scheduled at the beginning and end of each meeting. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Council meetings are held virtually and broadcast live.

Question Period & Attendance at Council Meetings

Due to the current Public Health directives and safety guidelines, members of the public may not attend Council meetings.

The Council meeting will be broadcast online. Therefore, members of the public who wish to attend the meeting at a distance can do so by clicking here.

The rules of order for the meetings of the Council of Commissioners indicate that the agenda must provide for two 20-minute question periods, one at the beginning of the agenda and one at the end. The purpose of these question periods is restricted to answering questions only, and not to enter into debates or conversations.

For the first question period, questions are to be addressed to the Chair either by fax (450-621-7929) or by email (jthompson@swlauriersb.qc.ca) by 13h00 the day of the meeting.

The second question period is restricted to questions pertaining to agenda items discussed at the meeting.
